The ORIGIN STORY
2017
In 2017, Kate Lynn & Adwoa Skin + Body care line was launched! The line is named after Davida's grandmother (Kate), sister (Lynn), and mother (Adwoa) and is true to her mission – to provide 100% natural skin care products that are not only beneficial to our skin, but also serve as tribute and source of empowerment to the women of Ghana.
KLA GOES TO GHANA
2018
Pioneering the KLA Experience:
In 2017, after a vacation to Ghana, Davida returned to the U.S and was met with a flood of questions from friends and strangers alike, all eager to know more about Ghana's rich culture, vibrant communities, and hidden gems. It was then that Davida realized the growing interest in Ghanaian culture and the desire for authentic experiences that went beyond the typical tourist trail.
Driven by her passion for sharing the beauty and warmth of her homeland, Davida decided to turn her vision into reality. She envisioned an experience that would offer more than just a vacation—it would be a journey of cultural immersion, personal connection, and self-discovery. This vision birthed the first Kate Lynn & Adwoa (KLA) trip to Ghana, a curated experience that would blend the richness of Ghanaian culture with the intimacy of community and the joy of connection.
The First KLA Trip:
In August 2018, Davida embarked on her first KLA journey with a group of 10 friends & family who signed up to join her in Ghana for the Chale Wote Festival, an annual street art festival that celebrates the vibrant arts scene in Accra.
YEAR OF RETURN
2019
"2019 was an important year throughout the African diaspora — the 400th year since enslaved Africans first arrived in the United States. In Ghana — once the center of the European slave trade — 2019 was declared "the year of return" and the start of a campaign to encourage descendants of enslaved Africans to re-connect with the land of their ancestors. Thousands of African-Americans made the trip to Ghana — and many decided to stay."
As for KLA GOES TO GHANA...
What started as a small group of 10 has since grown into a thriving community. KLA now hosts on average 10-30 people each month, curating high-end vacations, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and holiday events. Each trip is a unique blend of luxury, adventure, and cultural immersion, tailored to provide a bespoke experience that leaves a lasting impact.
